The problem

TRASSIR Client displays "short read" error when trying to connect TRASSIR Server to it.

Possible reasons

  1. The license on the server has expired or there is a trouble with a Guardant USB Dongle.
  2. When the length of one of the first packets that TRASSIR Client sends to TRASSIR Server socket changes.
    That is, the following happens:
    TRASSIR Client receives a command to connect to TRASSIR Server, and starts sending packets to TRASSIR Server socket. The first few packets pass through and are successfully received by the server, and then a packet arrives at the server whose length has changed and differs from the expected one. In this case, TRASSIR Server closes the session and TRASSIR Client displays a "short read" error.
    The packet length can be changed by any applications or services on the machine where TRASSIR Client is installed.
    Also, the length can be changed by various types of network traffic analyzers (so-called sniffers), which can be implemented in any network segment both at the software and hardware level

Possible solutions

Locally access the NVR itself and make sure that there are no information windows with errors related to the license or Guardant USB Dongle key.
If everything is OK, then most likely the error is related to the distortion of packets transmitted from the client to the server.

We recommend:

  • Disable antivirus software, firewall and other "protective" software on the computer with the Trassir client;
  • Create a new Windows user;
  • Terminate all "unnecessary" processes and services;
  • Disable network traffic analyzers.
