File format unrecognized

The name of the update file is not compatible with the current version of TRASSIR software on the recorder. Possible reasons:



Signature check failed

Possible causes:

  • The update file was corrupted during download or copying.:
    • Try downloading the update file for the recorder again. If you are updating from a flash drive, reformat the drive and copy the file onto it again..
    • Please download the update file again and update the recorder with the new file..
    • If there is a text after the error, the device has run out of space or no space left on device::
      • For MiniNVR devices with serial numbers starting with E8 and MiniClient devices with serial numbers starting with C4, running software versions XXXX/3017 or XXXX/3038, please install the special update first.
      • For DuoStation devices with serial numbers starting with L2 and software version XXXX/3100, please install the special update first.
  • The TRASSIR software version used for remote updating of another recorder is too low. First, update the TRASSIR software to the latest version 4.2 on the workstation from which you are performing the update. Then, try remote updating the other recorder again.
  • In some cases, third-party programs, including those built into the router, can cause file corruption, so we recommend disabling the firewall/antivirus/AdGuard before downloading.


Your device has run out of space or No space left on device.

Before the error, you see the message"signature check failed".:

  • For MiniNVR devices with serial numbers starting with E8 and MiniClient devices with serial numbers starting with C4, running software versions XXXX/3017 or XXXX/3038, please install the special update first.
  • For DuoStation devices with serial numbers starting with L2 and software version XXXX/3100, please install the special update first.

Before the error canot write "...":

  • For NVRS on Windows, free up space on the disk with TRASSIR software installed.
  • On recorders with TRASSIR OS software version below 8627/XXXX and recorders without archive disks, the update file can only be loaded onto the system disk. The system disk can be a flash drive or the internal memory of the recorder. The error means that there is not enough free space on the system disk to accommodate the update file.


Internal server error или cannot determine current version

To update TRASSIR on Windows operating systems running as a service, versions 4.1 1100280(1100276) and 1101009(1101007), you can temporarily run TRASSIR with a graphical interface to perform the update.

  1. Stop the TRASSIR service. Press Win + S, type "Services" and press Enter. In the list of services, find "trassir", right-click on the service and select Stop.
  2. Launch TRASSIR using the shortcut from the main menu or the "watchdog-vc120.exe" file from the installed TRASSIR folder.
  3. Update TRASSIR.
  4. After the update, unload TRASSIR through the Control PanelShutdown buttonUnload Trassir.
  5. In the Services window, right-click on the "trassir" service and select Start.


this service pack version already installed или newer service pack already installed

When trying to update the recorder using an update file to the current or older version, an error occurs. It is not possible to roll back TRASSIR to a previous version using an update file. If you need to install a previous version, please contact our technical support.



The software update failed to download.

This occurs when the software update fails on an unstable communication channel. If this error occurs regularly, you can manually update the recorders using update files. Please refer to the instructions for updating recorders on TRASSIR OS from 3.2 to 4.1 или с 4.0 to 4.1.



Could not resolve host: updates.cloud.trassir.com

This error occurs when attempting to automatically download an update via the internet if the recorder cannot find the update website.

  • For recorders on TRASSIR OS:
    On the recorder, go to Server Settings -> Network Interfaces. For the network interface with internet access, click on the Configure button and fill in the Gateway, DNS1, and DNS2 fields. You can use public DNS servers like Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4), Yandex (77.88.8.8 and 77.88.8.1), or the Gateway address. If the Gateway field is empty and you are unsure what to enter, please consult your system administrator or contact the technical support of your internet service provider.
  • For recerders on Windows:
    You need to set up internet access on your computer. Contact your system administrator or the technical support of your Internet provider.


During the update the error "Unable to perform update, unaligned partition" appears on the screen, the recorder is not updated

The very first software version saved to the recorder and the update file are not compatible with one another. To perform an update, use update file version 4.1-1114544 or higher



While updating, the process stops at the message "Searching for disk with UUID=...", the recorder is not updated

Appears on TRASSIR OS versions 4.1 129824(9824) - 1108824 in cases when the system image was written to a USB-drive of a larger size than the one supplied with the recorder.

Temporarily disconnect all archive HDDs and other drives from the recorder, then try to update the recorder again. After the update, plug the archived HDDs back in



While updating, the error "Could not stat device print - No such file or directory" appears on the screen, the recorder is not updated.

Appears when trying to update recorders with TRASSIR OS version 4.1 with the update file for version 4.2.

Restore the system image by following the instructions Restore image via Integrated automatic rescue system, then update by following the instructions Update recorders from TRASSIR OS 4.1 to the current version of TRASSIR OS 4.2.
